Hi, My name is Margie

My Background

Hi,

My name is Margie. I received my Diploma back in Nov 1996. I’m a member of the ATMS (Australian Traditional Medicine Society). I now hold an Adv Dip. in Remedial Massage, Dip. in Aromatherapy, Cert in Lymphatic Draining, Cert II Reiki practitioner & many other certificates of attainment in courses such as Myofascial Release Therapy, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Cupping, Hot Stone Massage etc. I am currently a recognised provider with all Health Funds for Remedial Massage rebates.

I have been in this industry for quite sometime, always learning new techniques & updating skills. I absolutely love working as a Massage Therapist & knew this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life while receiving my first massage in Dec 1995. Within a week of having that experience I was signed up for the Diploma course for 1996, all lights were green. My body knew this was my path & I’m so glad it spoke clearly to me.

A woman receiving Remedial Massage Therapy

Remedial Massage

These days, due to injury, inevitable poor posture at work or at home, I say that with a lot of empathy.  Unless you’re immune to the physical & mental stresses of life .. work, eat, sleep, rinse & repeat or are blessed with great genetics you're eventually going to find yourself seeking some form of physical or mental therapy that best suits you to get you through & keep you going with less bodily aches & pains.

Remedial Massage works with a goal in mind & will often involve a series of sessions where we are constantly assessing for any changes & improvements before moving into regular ‘maintenance’ treatments which varies from client to client.
I integrate and combine what I've learnt from the various accredited course that I’ve completed over the many years into my remedial massage treatments for the most favourable outcome designed for you.
Also note, we are all unique & different, I will ask several times during the massage if the pressure is ok for you. Some like it firm, some like it light & anywhere in between, so please use these opportunities to ask for any adjustments if required & needed. Firm may sound good to a lot of people however, through experience I would recommend having lighter pressure & build up over several treatments until your body is comfortable with firm pressure.

A Hot Stones Massage completely relaxing to both mind & body.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Massage can be completely relaxing to both mind and body. The penetrating heat from the basalt stones begins almost immediately to soothe and calm the nervous system and melt away the effects of stress from the body. Muscle tension gently eases under the smooth pressure of the stones, allowing circulation to increase. Hot stone massage can be especially helpful to those suffering from fibromyalgia, arthritis and those recovering from injuries. Hot Stones can be used as a stand alone treatment or in conjunction with Remedial Massage.

Reflexology has many beneficial & lasting calming effects.

Reflexology

The basic principle of reflexology is that congestion/tension in any part of the foot mirrors the congestion/tension in a corresponding body part. These reflex points can also be found on the hands and other body area's, however, the most commonly treated area is the feet. Reflexology may have many beneficial and lasting effects while soothing, calming, balancing and boosting the entire body.

Full body Lymphatic Massage

Lymphatic Drainage

The lymphatic system is a complicated network of vessels, ducts & nodes that move fluid between tissues & cells. When our lymphatic system slows down, becomes congested & blocked, our body has less defence against viruses, bacteria or fungi. Waste products accumulate & stagnate which can cause illness, lack of energy or fatigue. Lymphatic Drainage is performed manually by using specific techniques & direction that stimulates sluggish lymph to flow. It uses four basic movements: sweeping motions, stationary circles, pumping movements & rotary movements. I recommend 3 - 4 consecutive treatments within 7 - 10 days. Allow for a 90min session for full body. Wear loose clothing & underwear on the day. Make a conscious effort to drink plenty of water a few days before & after your treatment & at least 30mins of walking each day for optimal benefits.
